1st Masterstudy

For my first masterstudy i'll be doing a section of Mathieu Beaulieu ( http://mathieu-beaulieu.blogspot.com/ )'s Killer Kitty. I plan on doing the line work in Illustrator using the Blob Brush for the more organic lines and the pen tool for the more mechanical lines. [ I'm about half-way through the line work as I write this and so far so good!]
=Edit= Here's my line work

It is looking pretty good so far. Can't wait to see it in color. Are you planning to use vectors to color it or are you going to bring it over to photoshop and paint it?

Good start Megan! Make sure that all of your lines are closed. This will help with basic color fills later. If some of your lines end up a little thin you can use the selection tool and then expand or grow or modify the selection in Photoshop. I suppose you could also add a stroke in Illustrator. In Photoshop you can also use the Filter/other/minimum-or-maximum to adjust the thickness of strokes.

Did you figure out the color on illustrator? I did last night :) I have been using my pen tool to select the image then using the color bucket...I am sure there are many other ways but for my painting it seems to be working good. I can also have many layers for my work as well/ which is a good thing for me!
